Privacy policy
Last updated 28 October 2026
KODtrends (Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria) is responsible for the personal information you give us on this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and the items you buy.
- If you subscribe to our emails (in the footer or at checkout): your email address and, at checkout, your name.
- If you rate an order: your star rating and any comment, linked to that order.
- Payment: you enter your card or bank details on Paystack's secure pages. We never see or store your card number. They tell us whether the payment succeeded and the amount paid.
- Technical information: like most websites, our servers may record basic details such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and working.
What is stored on your device
Your cart and the details you type at checkout are saved in your own browser so you don't lose them if you leave the page. If you arrived from one of our ads or social media links, we also note which one (for example "Instagram, October campaign") for 30 days; it is sent with your order so we know which ads work. None of this is sent to us until you place an order, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's data for this site.
Advertising cookies
We advertise on Instagram (Meta), TikTok, Snapchat and Google. Only if you click Accept on our cookie banner, their tracking code (a "pixel") runs on this site. It tells them which pages and products you view, what you add to your cart, and when you buy (the products and amount, not your name, address or card details), so they can measure our ads and show you relevant ones. Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Google handle that data under their own privacy policies and may process it outside Nigeria. If you click Decline, none of it loads. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
How we use your information
- To process, deliver and confirm your order.
- To contact you about your order, a delivery or a problem you report, and to ask how your order went once it has been delivered.
- If you start checkout but don't pay, to send you one reminder with a link back to your cart.
- About a week after delivery, to thank you and show you what's new.
- If you subscribed, to send you new arrivals and offers.
- To keep the business and tax records the law requires.
Every reminder, follow-up and marketing email has an unsubscribe link; once you use it, we only email you about orders you place. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Our payment provider (Paystack), to take your payment.
- Delivery partners, who receive your name, phone number and delivery address so they can deliver your order.
- Service providers who host our website and database and send our emails (Resend) for us.
- Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Google, only if you accept advertising cookies (see above).
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to deliver your order, deal with any problem, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. After that we delete them.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. To do so, contact us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Keeping it safe
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to order information is limited to the people who need it to run the store.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
